“Mineral Materials” is an interesting and multiple-subject intersectional field, which is focused on the advanced functional materials from natural minerals, including the physicochemical aspects, microstructure investigation, functional design, computational simulation, and corresponding applications related to mineral materials.

About the session convenor

Huaming Yang is a professor of mineral materials, the director of the Centre for Mineral Materials, the vice dean of the School of Mineral Processing and Bioengineering, Central South University, China. He received his Ph.D. in mineral processing from Central South University of Technology, China, and went to the University of Bristol and the University of Queensland as a visiting professor. He is also the director of Hunan Key Lab of Mineral Materials and Application. His primary research interest is in mineral materials, including the structure modification of clay minerals, functional design of minerals, synthesis strategy for advanced materials from natural minerals, and related applications. He has published more than 120 scientific papers and book contributions in these areas. He was elected a leading talent of the National “Ten Thousand Talents Program” and awarded the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars in China. He served as editorial board member for Scientific Reports.
